PepperGreen Farm Community Festival – Sat Dec 1st
‘Celebrating Sustainability at Pepper Green Farm’
The PepperGreen Farm Community Festival is on Saturday December 1st at 40 Thunder Street North Bendigo from 10am to 3pm; just follow the tram tracks.
The festival aims to demonstrate simple concepts of sustainability in a community environment. As well as Vox Bandicoot with their Sustainability Superheroes Circus, there will be many children’s activities, including face painting, balloon hats, an animal nursery, circus skills workshops.
Solar generated electricity will power the Independent Musos Network, who will have some very talented local musicians, including Jordan Allen, playing acoustic music in the afternoon, as part of the Sonic Solar Challenge. The Bendigo Youth Choir will also perform in the morning.
The Festival will host interactive displays from community stakeholders including the Environment Protection Agency with their stormwater display which children especially find fascinating. See the future of personal transport options: The festival will showcase a compressed air parks runabout vehicle, the Human Powered Vehicle from Weeroona College and an electric car.
Workshop presentations on creating a sustainable community will be led by local identities and experts including Gary Griffin, Alan Windust, Brian Hayes, Kevin Walsh and also an information session by Andrew McSwain on the Sustainability Street concept.
Food, coffee, and fresh fruit and vegetables will be for sale. The Bendigo North Primary School will be hosting a barbeque, so there really is something for everyone at this year’s festival. So come and celebrate sustainability in our community.
